The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from ASHI gives tweens, teenagers, and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting, or for staying home alone without an adult. From getting started with their business, to relating with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, the magazine-format CABS guide and vlogger-style video make learning fun. This course also covers safety material for children who may be staying home alone.

Topics covered include:

* Becoming a babysitter  * What is a babysitter  * Preparing to babysit  * Thinking like a babysitter  * Being ready to babysit  * Babysitting business basics  * Getting to know the family  * Staying safe  * Safety on the job  * Safe and supervised  * Taking care of kids  * Caring for kids and their basic needs  * Handwashing and hygiene  * Food preparation  * Diapers and helping kids use the bathroom  * Playtime  * Managing challenging behavior  * Naps and bedtime  * When things go wrong  * Recognizing a problem  * Taking action  * Getting help  * Before help arrives  * You can do it!  * Bringing it all together.

This course option is an online course with a 2-hour or shorter skills session class.  The skills session class can be scheduled remotely as a 1:1 session, group session, or as a small group classroom session.  A supply list will be sent to participants prior to their remote skills session.

Online course and group remote or classroom skills session cost is $55.

Online course and 1:1 remote skills session cost is $70.

This blended learning class can meet requirements for a full class or for participants who would like to renew their babysitting certification.

Cost is $55 for the blended course link and a group skills session class or remote group skills session.

ASHI Community CPR AED and Basic First Aid blended course with Remote Skills Verification is a 2-part course.  Part 1 is completing an online CPR AED and First Aid course, which includes all the video material.  Part 2 is a hands-on Remote Skills Session class.  Participants must successfully complete Part 1 before attending the Remote Skills Session.

Please note this online course is very comprehensive and does have realistic emergency and injury graphics.

Course covers Adult, Child, & Infant CPR AED, relief of choking, basic First Aid principles, medical & environmental emergencies, injuries, and what to do until advanced help arrives. 

Participants will demonstrate all of the skills in the Remote Skills Session which is physical and hands-on.  Participants can choose from 3 different remote skills session options.

Course charges: 

Adult, Child, Infant CPR AED and Basic First Aid Blended course and remote skills session with loaned equipment provided by Coastal CPR is $85.   

Adult, Child, Infant CPR AED Only and Basic First Aid Blended course and remote skills session with loaned equipment provided by ASHI is $115.  

Adult, Child CPR AED Only and Basic First Aid Blended course and remote skills session with purchased equipment provided by ASHI is $135.

Loaned equipment is delivered or mailed to you.  You will not receive your certification until the equipment is returned, picked up, or shipped.

Purchased equipment through ASHI are inflatable manikins and supplies that you do not return.  Certification is issued after successfully completing the remote skills verification.

After registration you will receive an email to schedule your remote skills session.  The skills session will take approximately 1.5 hours.

ASHI Pediatric CPR AED and Basic First Aid blended course is a 2-part course.  Part 1 is completing an online CPR AED and First Aid course, which includes all the video material.  Part 2 is a hands-on Remote Skills Verification Session.  This course is specifically geared towards emergencies with children and infants. Participants must successfully complete Part 1 before attending the Remote Skills Session.

Please note this online course is very comprehensive and does have realistic emergency and injury graphics.

Course covers Adult, Child, & Infant CPR AED, relief of choking, basic First Aid principles, medical & environmental emergencies, injuries, and what to do until advanced help arrives.  The Skills Session is physical and hands-on.
