Weather alerts for today.

I woke up to a lot of weather warnings this morning, and a 2-hour delayed school start for my kids.

A Hurricane Force Wind Warning in effect until 8 am for mariners.
A High Wind Warning until 11 am for winds with gusts up to 65 mph.
A Flood Warning for an additional 1-2″ of rain to fall within the next few hours.
A Flash Flood Watch until this afternoon because the forecast calls for heavy rainfall between 1.5-3″ of rain, possibly up to 6″ of rain until early afternoon.
A Coastal Flood statement for high tides and beach erosion.

We still have power, but I’m seeing posts from friends that they are out of power or their work has been delayed or cancelled due to power failures. At least one road is closed.

There is a strong coastal storm that will last for several more hours. Storm details can be found on Weather.com.

What does this mean for you?
If you don’t need to go out, do not go out in this weather. Be prepared for the power to go out out. Check weather forecast and road closure information before heading out if you need to leave for work or school.

Stay Safe!
