Do you know what an AED is?

An AED is an Automated External Defibrillator. When a person suffers Sudden Cardiac Arrest an AED is used to stop the irregular electrical activity in the heart so that it can return to its normal rhythm.

AED's are becoming more common in public places. You don't need to take a class to use one, a simple guideline of how they work is on the CPRMom Blog.

Of course if you want to take a class to learn how to use an AED or how to perform CPR I have several Heartsaver AED courses scheduled for March and April at UNH.
