BLS for Healthcare Provider Courses | Classroom Courses | Blended and Online Courses


Classroom Courses
These are full classroom courses; all material is presented and practiced in a classroom setting. The classes are hands-on courses and participants are expected to demonstrate the skills learned in the class. Classes offered include American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Courses, American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver Courses and American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Courses.  All courses lead to 2-year certification after successful course completion.  AHA eCards or ASHI digital cards are issued usually within a day or two.  Please contact the instructor prior to the class if you will need any course accommodations or feel you will have difficulty performing the classroom skills.

AHA BLS Courses are Healthcare Provider Level CPR courses.  These classes cover 1 & 2 person adult, child, & infant CPR AED, team CPR, use of a bag valve mask, CPR with an advanced airway in place, and the written & practical exam.  The classroom options for this course are the full 4.5-hour classroom course or the 3-hour BLS Renewal course.  For participants wanting to take the blended/online Heartcode BLS course please scroll down to Blended and Online Courses or BLS for Healthcare Provider Courses.

AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Course is the standard lay responder certification course.  The class covers adult, child, & infant CPR AED, how to use barrier devices, and how to relieve choking.  

AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is the standard lay responder certification course.  The class covers adult, child, & infant CPR AED, how to use barrier devices, relief of choking, basic First Aid principles, medical and environmental emergencies and treatment of injuries.  

AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is the standard lay responder certification course.  The class covers adult, child, & infant CPR AED, how to use barrier devices, relief of choking, basic First Aid principles, medical and environmental emergencies and treatment of injuries. 

AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is the standard lay responder certification course.  The class covers adult, child, & infant CPR AED, how to use barrier devices, relief of choking, basic First Aid principles, medical and environmental emergencies and treatment of injuries geared towards participants working or volunteering with children.

Blended and Online Courses
Want to take a course online? It is convenient and quick, but for most you still must attend a skills session to practice the skills learned in the course and to earn your certification.

Blended courses have 2 or 3 Parts; Part 1 is an online course, Part 2 and Part 3 are a shorter skills-session classes that covers the hands-on portion of the course.  Blended courses include American Heart Association (AHA) Heartcode BLS, American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver Online, and American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Blended Learning.  The skills sessions are hands-on courses and participants are expected to demonstrate the skills learned in the class.  Please contact the instructor prior to the class if you will need any course accommodations or feel you will have difficulty performing the classroom skills.

Online courses are online only.  These include Bloodborne Pathogens and Summit Training Source courses.

BLS for Healthcare Provider courses
BLS for Healthcare Provider courses are designed for healthcare providers, providers working in allied health fields, and students studying in a health care field.

Courses cover One and Two rescuer CPR on Adults, Children, and Infants, use of the AED, using barrier devices, additional airway adjuncts, team dynamics, high-performance team BLS, and relief of choking. All BLS courses include a written and practical exam.

AHA BLS Provider Classroom Courses include the full 4.5-hour classroom course or the 3-hour BLS Renewal course.
